Introduction

This $799 MSRP GTDS570EDWW (sale price $670) may look simple and old-fashioned, but it actually has some very appealing modern features, like Steam Refresh, Eco Monitoring, and a great user interface. Luckily, it has customizable features too, because unfortunately some of the cycles dry with nothing short of hellish fury, reaching temperatures of upwards of 175 degrees. Yikes! Toss in some Betty Crockers and call it an Easy Bake Oven... unless your wardrobe consists of fireproof pants and hearty canvas coveralls, you may want to think twice before purchasing this furnace -- er, dryer.

Suffice it to say, the overall performance here just doesn't cut it. The combination of flimsy parts, inexact estimated times, and slow, ineffective cycles with forest-fire-like temperatures knock this machine down several big-picture pegs.
